Mountain View, CA- Want to live forever? There’s an app for that.

Okay, maybe not yet, but when you throw some of the top minds in the world together in a room, the possibilities are seemingly endless.

Last year, Google announced that it was working on a new project called Calico. A project which has set out to “solve death,” and take on the aging process. Google has now officially unveiled a website to back all the chatter, but you may not want to start living like you’re immortal just yet.

According to Google sources, “Calico is a research and development company whose mission is to harness advanced technologies to increase our understanding of the biology that controls lifespan. We will use that knowledge to devise interventions that enable people to lead longer and healthier lives.”

Even with a powerhouse like Google backing it, Calico is very much a startup, getting all of their ducks in a row. Although, with a team composed of the chairman of Apple and other scientists involved in medicine, drug development, genetics, and molecular biology, the ducks may line up quickly.

A large portion of Calico’s research will go toward age-attendant conditions such as Alzheimer’s disease, heart disease, and cancer.

The new site also features a careers section, in case you have your own bright ideas on how we can answer the age-old question, how can we cure death?
