New York, NY – We’ve written before about AppScript, a platform that allows doctors to discover, bundle, and distribute consumer health apps to their patients as part of a holistic treatment plan. Launched by data powerhouse IMS, it curates apps that doctors are most interested in prescribing and even uses it’s own proprietary rating system to quickly showcase what’s has the potential to be a game-changer when added onto a treatment regimen—a great tool when you consider that the platform has over 160,000 apps to choose from and continues to grow all of the time.
In a recent update to the story, a deal was announced last month with QuantiaMD where all of the current users of QuantiaMD’s Physician Engagement Platform (over 225,000 hcps) would be given access to the AppScript service. This is a big boost in exposure for the platform. According to Dan Malloy, executive vice president of QuantiaMD, in a recent press release announcing the partnership:
QuantiaMD is designed to help physicians make better clinical decisions for their patients. We are thrilled to be partnering with AppScript, which will offer our active physician community easy access to a suite of over 65,000 healthcare-specific apps, backed by an organization they can trust. We believe members of our physician community – over half of which visit QuantiaMD from a mobile device – will understand and appreciate the value AppScript will bring to their practice, and to the health of the patients they serve.
And it is quite a “physician community” he is referring to. 34 percent of all US physicians are registered on the network, and spend an average of 20 minutes a day on the site. This easy access to the ever growing AppScript library may start to turn many of the QuantiaMD community into real mhealth believers, especially when they start to hear more about successful use cases from their trusted peer network. Don’t be surprised if your next Rx includes a download or two!
